These pieces range in price from $450 to $950*. The wall vases are 29 to 31 inches tall and approximately 6 to 9 inches wide at the top. Vessels range in height from 8 to 14 inches. Many are quite "organic" in shape, and widths vary from approximately 9 to 14 inches. The vessels with the "satin" finish are sandblasted and Tim calls these "fossils". Tim grew up in a sleepy suburb of Tacoma, Washington. After obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry from Oregon State University in 1991, he moved to Portland, Oregon, where he currently lives and works as an artist. He loves the Pacific Northwest, and though he has traveled to many places, he will always call it his home.

Artist's Statement

My experiences, peers, and my own aesthetic are the guides for my creative process. With relatively little formal education in the arts, I have relied on observation, experimentation, and persistence to acquire new skills and to facilitate the evolution of my work. A background in chemistry has proven invaluable in understanding and influencing the physical nature and behavior of glass.

Over the next several years, I hope to further explore the scientific and artistic attributes of glass as a sculptural form. I would like to focus on the use of innovative materials and techniques, thereby expanding the set of creative tools that are available to artists who work in this unique and fabulous medium.
