Ed McDonald has spent the past twenty-eight years involved with glass. In 1978, he started blowing glass and has experienced a wide range of techniques working with glass, both hot and cold.
After working with such artists as Dante Marioni, Ben Moore, Martin Blank, and Richard Royal, among others, McDonald decided to develop a body of his own work.
These richly textured “Sea Stars”, with a highly reflective reduction surface and the shell-like “Marine Sculptures”, enhanced with an elegant application of gold and silver leaf, represent one phase of his designs.
McDonald is currently employed at the Dale CHihuly Studio in Seattle as a glass blower and colorist.
